
Thousands of people are facing the possibility of having their retirement plans and futures turned upside down as the row over the collapse of a number of company pensions intensifies. The Government assured people that company pension schemes were safe and around 125,000 workers are demanding compensation. Throwing its weight behind the campaign, Saga is announcing its support for those who, having saved diligently for their retirement are now suffering. It is campaigning for the Government to compensate members of failed pension schemes, and is urging its two million customers to lobby their Member of Parliament to call for justice to be done. I spoke to Ros Altmann from the Pensions Action Group. I asked her, just how many people are affected?
