Smarter ways of working

It's a fact. Flexible working is all the rage, and for good reason. Chaining employees to their desks and ruling their working lives with an iron fist is a practice that's dead and buried.

Having said that bosses shouldn't feel pressured to give away perks that lower productivity. Flexible working doesn't mean letting your team turn up when they want, surf the internet all day or take long luxurious lunches. A "well run" organisation makes its staff want to come to work in the mornings, work hard during the day, and feel rewarded when they leave at night. The trick is to boost morale by helping your team to work smarter, and it doesn't take drastic changes to make a big difference. Perks should be constructive and mutually beneficial. A few subtle upgrades or tweaks here and there will enhance productivity and staff drive no end.
